He has many connections with great composers of his time. He premiered and was the dedicatee of Max Bruch’s Kol Nidrei, Op. 47, and Johannes Brahms’ Cello Sonata No. 2 in F major, Op. 99. Here are Jacqueline du Pré and Daniel Barenboim performing the Brahms:
