Notes for Nourishment Online: A Concert for the Family Giving Tree
Join us for a peaceful afternoon on Sun, 10/18 at 1pm as we watch two award-winning, 16-year-old artists share their talents with the world. Cellist, Angeline Kiang, and pianist, Ryan Sheng have chosen to raise funds for Family Giving Tree through Notes For Nourishment’s Live Concerts! The concert is free to watch and donations are welcome. All proceeds will go to Family Giving Tree to empower those in our community.

Ukiah Community Concert Association Present Deep Strings
The Berlin-based duo of Anne-Christin Schwartz and Stephan Braun—she on cello and voice and he on cello—are producing a recorded concert specifically for a virtual Ukiah performance on Sunday, Oct. 18 at 2 p.m., the second concert of the Ukiah Community Concert Association’s 2020-2021 season.

Yo-Yo Ma Honors UN with Live Virtual Concert

Yo-Yo Ma honors the 75th anniversary of the UN’s creation with a special musical event inspired by the simple belief that we must work together to build the world we need. The superstar cellist, who is a United Nations Messenger of Peace, performs in three parts live from Boston, presenting a program that weaves in musical and video creations by artists from around the world. Together, their work reminds us of the values we share, the common challenges we face, and the hope that we can find solutions together.
Tickets are $9.90 and grant access to all three live events plus 48 hours of on-demand viewing.

Arts Council Oklahoma City Presents: Jose Palacios, Cellist
Jose Palacios began his studies in violoncello at the age of twelve in 2002. He completed his Bachelors’s degree in music performance at Southern Nazarene University. Palacios has been teaching cello since 2006. From 2006 to 2008, he worked with middle school cellists and orchestras in the Rio Grande Valley, Texas. A versatile performer, Palacios has participated in numerous symphonies, orchestras, and jazz bands.

The Center for Gifted Young Musicians Master Class Series: Master Class with Marcy Rosen, cellist
Marcy Rosen has established herself as one of the most important and respected artists of our day. A graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music, Ms. Rosen is currently professor of cello at the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College, also serving as Artistic Director of the Chamber Music Live concert series. She is on the faculty at the Mannes College of Music in New York City, since 1986 Ms. Rosen has been Artistic Director of Chesapeake Chamber Music in Maryland. She is also an artist member of Music for Food, a musician led initiative to fight hunger in our local communities.

Fiddle Hell Online – Fiddle Workshops, Concerts, and Jams for Cellists (and fiddle, mandolin, guitar, old-time banjo, voice, and more)
Ever wanted to learn how to play fiddle music on the cello? Want to learn how to jam with fiddlers? This is a great opportunity. Those who like to listen rather than play can register to attend the concerts and jams.
There are four different levels of difficulty:
Fiddle Hell Online workshops and jams are intended for beginners, low and high intermediates, and advanced players. Please understand that Fiddle Hell Online workshops are not oriented to novices who are new to their main instrument and can’t play any tunes yet. Of course, even if you’re a newbie, you can still listen to concerts and jams, or sit in on an online workshop.
Price: $150, discounts for kids, young adults, and seniors
