New York Women Composers Spotlight: Joelle Wallach
Every month we showcase women composers of cello music through our collaboration with the New York Women Composers (NYWC). In the second week of June 2023, we are pleased to feature composer Debra Kaye and her piece, “Scalerica d’oro,” for an unusual ensemble—cello and dumbek.

Mystery Cellist at Polesden Lacey
With summer approaching in the Northern Hemisphere, many of us look forward to traveling. Whenever I am in the UK, I love visiting National Trust sites. As I make my own travel plans, I am reminded of a quest to uncover the identity of a cellist in a drawing found at Polesden Lacey, a National Trust site in Surrey, England. Get ready for a summer mystery later this month.
Full Circle – Cellos for Trees – The Forest
Get ready for the premiere of the full video for the #cellosfortrees project. The video team has been hard at work, and the final video is scheduled to be released on 21 June 2023!
You can continue to help plant trees through this special project by making donations directly through the project page and by purchasing #cellosfortrees items (shirts, hoodies, stickers, mugs, and more) from our online museum shop.
