The Schwob School of Music Cello Studio under the direction of Professor Wendy Warner, The Leah D Hamer Distinguished Chair in Cello, presents a recital of cello solos accompanied by cello choir. The duo of cellist Tomeka Reid and bassist Junius Paul shares the bill with a quartet led by saxophonist Mars Williams. Live Chakra Cleansing with Deep Ambient Cello
Prepare to relax and join The Wong Janice on this weekly 45-minute journey of deep ambient cello pieces aligned with the 7 major chakras that will leave you feeling more open and calm. The performance is a live interpretation of pieces from her 10-day Insight Timer course: Chakra Cleansing with Deep Cello. This event is hosted in collaboration with the meditation app Insight Timer.

The Cello Camerata
The Cello Camerata is an online, international weekly masterclass, organized in four-week sessions, for students of advanced repertoire. Our core team of three established teachers (Wendy Warner, Jonathan Kramer, and Lisa Liske), with two monthly additional expert guest teachers from around the world, presents a learning community online for the collegial exchange of insights and inspiration about the art of cello playing and musicianship…The Camerata masterclasses feature concerto-level players from pre-teen through graduate school. Students of all ages (including adult amateurs)…are invited to audit the masterclasses….Please visit The Cello Camerata website for more information.
March guest artists are Stephanie Vial of Red Priest and Brent Wissick of UNC-Chapel Hill. Teachers may observe for free. The Junior Cello Camerata
The Junior Cello Camerata offers intermediate cellists of all ages (including adult amateurs) masterclass lessons, or the opportunity to observe rather than perform solos, as well as a twenty-minute weekly technique class for all with cellos in hand. It is an online, international weekly gather taught by Wendy Warner, Jonathan Kramer, and Lisa Liske.
March guest artists are Stephanie Vial of Red Priest and Brent Wissick of UNC-Chapel Hill.

Eastman Virtual Summer Cello Workshop

A three-week intensive course designed to help students develop strategies for learning and mastering the cello. Group classes will focus on techniques for healthy playing and longevity at the instrument, as well as techniques specific to solo and orchestral repertoire. Students will receive lessons with faculty members, perform in masterclasses for Eastman School of Music faculty, and participate in classes and topical workshops such as: “Developing Efficiency in Practice,” “Understanding the Bach Cello Suites,” “Audition Preparation,” and “Wellness for Cellists.”
Repertoire covered during the Institute will include Bach Cello Suites and other works for unaccompanied cello, standard concertos and etudes, and orchestral excerpts; specific pieces will be determined upon acceptance to the program. Students will be working from the Eastman Cello Institute Technique Book (free with registration).

The Wharton Institute for the Performing Arts will offer a series of Audition Workshops from February 21 through April 30, including Do You Know Your Scales & Arpeggios?, Tips for Making a Great Audition Video, and New Jersey Youth Symphony Audition Preparation Excerpt Workshops. Instrumentalists entering grades 3-12 from anywhere in the world are invited to take advantage of this series of virtual workshops to hone skills and prepare for orchestral auditions.
The Audition Workshop series is free and open to the public. To register to attend, visit WhartonArts.org. For New Jersey Youth Symphony 2021-22 season auditions, visit NJYS.org.

Fiddle Hell Online
The Fiddle Hell Massachusetts Festival has been a yearly gathering of fiddlers, cellists, mandolin/guitar/old-time banjo players, and singers to meet, jam, learn, listen, and have fun. It’s both friendly and diverse, crossing all ages and including many traditional musical styles. This is our 16th annual Festival, and the first to be online. Typically, there are about 10% beginners, 25% low intermediates, 35% high intermediates, and 30% advanced players, with many workshop and jam session choices at each level. Roughly 15% of the attendees are kids, and in the past we’ve had some sessions just for them.

With the ever-changing landscape of the music field, The Chosen Vale International Cello Seminar is here to support a community of cellists ready to jump head-first into their artistry, bound with hope. The Chosen Vale International Cello Seminar will provide daily lessons, ensemble coaching, masterclasses and workshops over the two-week course period.
