This month we celebrate a significant milestone and an important holiday at The Cello Museum, specifically:
- The dedication of the museum (27 December)
- International Cello Day (29 December)
Prizes
Museum Dedication: 27 December 2020
We will announce our dedicatee and unveil a newly painted mixed media portrait of this person on the day. The physical copy will be donated to this person’s home museum, and a second copy will be given to this person’s family after it is safe to travel.
So that you can join in the celebrations, we will also be doing three random prize drawings. The prizes we will be giving away to the winners that day are:
- First Place: An autographed copy of Amit Peled’s Bach Suites for Cello Solo (Volume 1), performed on Casals’ cello. (This is the same cello that Casals played in the first prize CDs for International Cello Day below.)
CTM Classics generously donated this prize. If you would like to order a copy, please click here to order it directly from CTM Classics. Thank you so much, CTM Classics!
- Second Place: A Cello Museum mug.
- Third Place: A Cello Museum cello sticker.
International Cello Day: 29 December 2020
International Cello Day is our biggest holiday of the cello year and is traditionally celebrated on 29 December – Pau Casals’ birthday. We will be doing four random prize drawings that day. Here are the prizes:
- First Place: A copy of the 2-CD set of Casals playing the Bach Suites. Amit Peled used this same cello to make his recording in the giveaway first place prize above.
- BONUS Prize, courtesy CTM Classics: an autographed copy of Amit Peled’s new recording of Beethoven Cello Sonatas No.s 3 and 4 with pianist Noreen Polera. This is to commemorate Beethoven’s 250th birthday and to celebrate Amit Peled’s birthday this month. Thank you, CTM Classics! Happy Birthday, Beethoven! Happy Birthday, Amit Peled!
Second Place: A Cello Museum mug.
- Third Place: A Cello Museum cello sticker.
How to Enter the Random Prize Drawings
Contact us and include the following information:
- Your name as you would like to appear on the public winner’s list if you win.
- Your email address, so that we can contact you if you are a winner.
- Which prize drawing you’d like to enter: Dedication, International Cello Day, or both.
- Do you want to be added to our mailing list for the weekly email newsletter – yes or no.
Many online sites use prize drawings to grab emails, but you’ll notice we don’t do that. We’d love to have more people who love the cello on our mailing list, but only those who really want to hear from us. So we leave this up to you.
There are no requirements to enter our prize drawings other than answering the above questions.
Terms, Conditions, and Rules
- You must provide answers to all four questions above.
- Your answer to number 2 must include a valid email address, otherwise, we won’t be able to contact you if you are a winner.
- If you enter, you agree to have your name listed (see number 1 above) on our website, newsletter, and/or social media.
- We will NOT list your email in public if you are a winner – only the name you want us to use (see number 1 above).
- We will NOT add your email address to our mailing list unless you tell us yes for number 4 above.
- You can only win one prize in December’s prize drawings, but you can choose to be entered into both prize drawings – see number 3 above.
- Each entry is assigned a number, and prizes are chosen through a random number generator.
- You may only enter once, but you may have your name entered for both prize drawings.
- Three prize drawings will be done on 27 December, one for each of the dedication prizes.
- Four prize drawings will be done on 29 December, one for each of the International Cello Day prizes.
- Prize winners will be announced after the prize drawings.
- Prizes will be sent to winners as soon as possible after the prize drawings, but we cannot guarantee a delivery date.
Good Luck!
